Friuch Consulting’s Referral Fee Policies

Consulting is typically a “word of mouth” and reputation-based business. Unlike businesses that sell commoditized goods or services, consultants rely on referrals from colleagues for a significant portion of new business. For that reason, many consulting firms choose to offer referral fees (like a commission) on any successful sales.

Everyone has professional networks that they grow and nurture over a number of years. Organizations like Business Networking International (BNI) leverage those networks to generate leads for their members. The main difference between what BNI and Friuch Consulting offers is that we will pay you for leads and introductions while BNI members refer each other for free. Friuch Consulting has a two-tier referral system based on the quality of leads provided by you or your organization:

Introductions

Introductions are the kind of leads where you might identify a company or individual in your network that could benefit from the type of services that Friuch Consulting offers. You might not know a specific project that Friuch Consulting could work on but you are confident that there is a mutually beneficial relationship.

If you introduce Friuch Consulting to a contact in your network and that introduction leads to a paid consulting project within one year of the introduction, Friuch Consulting will pay you 5% on the first $100,000 of the project fees upon receiving final payment for the project.

For example, if you introduce Friuch Consulting to an early-stage high tech company and it turns out that company needs a market assessment (typically worth $30,000) we will cut you a cheque for $1500 at the completion of the project. That’s all there is to it - up to $5000 in your pocket just for introducing your trusted colleagues to Friuch Consulting.

Qualified Leads

Qualified Leads are leads where you have put some work and thought into finding a specific project that Friuch Consulting can work on. If you can answer “yes” to the following questions about a specific lead, Friuch Consulting will pay you 10% on the first $100,000 of the project fees upon receiving final payment for the project:

  1. Does this individual or business have a specific need for Friuch’s services? What specific need or problem does this individual or business have that may be satisfied by Friuch’s services?
  2. Does the individual or business have a sincere desire to fulfill this need or solve this problem?
  3. Have you convinced this individual or business that Friuch’s services (over the services of other firms) is needed?
  4. Does this individual or business have the financial resources to pay?
  5. Does this individual have the authority to buy?

If you answered yes to the above questions and can broker the relationship between your trusted colleague and Friuch Consulting, we will pay you up to $10,000 for your efforts.

For example, Matthew Sullivan recently provided a qualified lead to Friuch Consulting. The potential client contacted Matthew about a corporate policy that they wanted to develop. Matthew, who is in the business of writing business plans for companies, indicated that he had no experience developing corporate policy but would be happy to refer them to his trusted colleague – Friuch Consulting. He then contacted us, provided details about the client, how the came to learn about our services, what kind of work they wanted to do and who at the company I would be dealing with. Once this project is completed, Friuch Consulting will cut Matthew a cheque for 10% of the total project fees.
